Gym-Based Brain Training for NPF Children in Västerås
Children with NPF (neuropsychiatric conditions such as ADHD, autism, ADD, Tourette’s, etc.) often need more than seated conversations. They need movement, structure, and safe guidance for the nervous system to find balance.
At Brain Body Balance in Västerås, we offer gym-based brain training for NPF children — right inside First Class Hässlö. Here, children get to move, play, train balance and coordination in a calm environment where the focus is on the brain, body, and nervous system, not on performance.
What do we mean by gym-based brain training?
Gym-based brain training means using movement, balance, strength, rhythm, and sensory stimulation to help the brain function in a more organized way.
Instead of only “training the muscles,” we work with:
-
nervous system regulation
-
primary reflexes and motor maturity
-
balance and body control
-
eye–head–body coordination
-
breathing and calm
-
focus, direction, and confidence
Movement becomes a language the brain understands.
Who is the program suitable for?
Our gym-based brain training is designed for children who:
-
have an NPF diagnosis (ADHD, ADD, autism, etc.)
-
are waiting for an assessment or suspect NPF
-
struggle with focus, impulses, or emotional regulation
-
become easily overwhelmed by sounds, lights, or environments
-
struggle with motor skills, balance, or coordination
-
have difficulty sitting still, or on the contrary “shut down”
Children do not need to “fit into a mold” — we adapt the structure to each child’s needs, strengths, and daily condition.
Important: What we do – and what we don’t do
"We do not perform medical diagnostics…"**
We do not perform medical diagnostics.
We offer brain- and movement-based support for children who already have an NPF diagnosis, are suspected of having NPF, or need extra help in their development.
We:
-
do not make diagnoses
-
do not replace healthcare, BUP, or habilitation
-
work as a complement, focusing on daily function, movement, self-regulation, and quality of life
Our goal is to provide practical tools that work at school, at home, and during free time.
How does the training work?
The training is offered as 1-to-1 sessions or in small, safe groups inside First Class Gym Hässlö. The structure can include for example:
-
neuromotor training and balance exercises
-
playful movement and coordination circuits
-
crawling, rolling and rotation exercises (reflex integration)
-
breathing exercises for calm and focus
-
sensory regulation (more or less stimulation depending on the child’s needs)
-
cognitive vision training (eye and gaze movements linked to focus)
-
short restorative breaks so the nervous system has time to settle
The sessions are short, clear and predictable.
Children should feel: “I can do this. This is made for me.”
What changes can you hope for?
Children often experience positive shifts when the brain and nervous system become more regulated through movement-based training. Some of the improvements families commonly notice include:
• Better focus and attention
• Calmer emotional reactions
• Less impulsivity
• Improved balance and coordination
• Increased body awareness
• More confidence in physical activities
• Greater ability to handle everyday situations
• Fewer sensory overload reactions
• More stable routines at home and in school
Every child is different, and progress happens at their own pace — but even small improvements in regulation can make everyday life significantly easier for both the child and the family.
What changes can you hope for?
Every child is different, but many parents report positive changes such as:
-
improved focus and attention

better emotional regulation
-
fewer meltdowns and less stress
-
increased body awareness and coordination

more confidence in movement and daily activities
-
calmer mornings and evenings

Our goal is not perfection — it’s progress.
